Why Solar Now

Electricity keeps getting more expensive.
Sunlight doesn't.

Utility rates have climbed an average of 5% per year for two decades. A solar system locks in your rate today — for the next 25+ years. It's the single largest home upgrade most families will ever make, and one of the few that pays them back.

Lower Bills — Fast

Most homeowners see 60–90% reductions in their electric bill from month one. Some see zero.

Home Value Boost

Zillow research: homes with solar sell for ~4.1% more on average. In many markets, more.

30% Federal Tax Credit

The Residential Clean Energy Credit returns 30% of your system cost as a federal tax credit.

Rate Protection

Your production offsets the utility's rising rates. You're insulated from decades of hikes.

Predictable Payment

The Raven team was upfront about every number — no games. Install crew was in and out in a day and the roof looks better than before.

Our bill went from $267 to $14. I keep double-checking it. Wish we'd done this three years ago instead of pouring money into the utility.

I compared three quotes. Raven wasn't the cheapest but the equipment they proposed and the warranty were clearly better. Zero regrets a year in.

FAQ

The questions homeowners ask us most.

How much does a home solar system cost?

National average is $15,000–$25,000 before the 30% federal tax credit for a typical 7–10 kW system. With $0-down financing, most families see a monthly solar payment lower than their previous electric bill from day one. Your exact quote depends on roof size, sun exposure, your utility, and which equipment you choose.

Do I still get an electric bill?

Yes — a small one. Most utilities charge a fixed monthly service fee (typically $8–$25) regardless of usage, and you'll still be connected to the grid. But your consumption charges — the part that grows every year — drop dramatically or go to zero.

What about cloudy days and winter?

Systems are sized to produce a full year's worth of electricity across all seasons. In summer you produce more than you use (your utility credits you); in winter you draw on those credits. This is called net metering, and it's why your bill can average close to zero over 12 months.

How long does installation take?

The physical install is usually 1–2 days. The full process from signed proposal to switching on — including permits, HOA approvals, and utility interconnection — averages 45–75 days.

What if my roof needs to be replaced?

We inspect your roof before installation. If it's near end-of-life, we recommend replacing before solar goes on (many homeowners bundle the roof into their solar loan). We'll never install onto a roof we can't warranty.

What happens if I sell my house?

If you own the system (cash or loan), it transfers with the home and typically increases sale price and speed. If it's leased or PPA, the agreement transfers to the new owner, or can be prepaid at closing. We help sellers handle it either way.

Is the 30% tax credit really 30%?

Yes. The federal Residential Clean Energy Credit lets you claim 30% of your total system cost as a dollar-for-dollar credit against your federal tax bill (through 2032, currently). You must own the system (cash or loan) to claim it. Consult your tax professional for how it applies to your situation.

What's your warranty?

25 years on panels (product and production), 25 years on microinverters, 10 years on workmanship. If anything fails or underperforms during that window, we fix it — no gotchas.
